Officers who arrested Citi FM journo contravened standard operating procedure – Kan Dapaah

A committee established to investigate the arrest of journalist, Caleb Kudah, and subsequent invasion of Citi FM premises has found the national security officer and the police involved guilty of inappropriate conduct.

A statement from the Ministry of National Security said the actions of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman (Director of Operations) who led the team contravenes its standard operating procedures.

It indicated that the secondment of Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman at the Ministry has therefore been reversed and is to report to the Chief of Defence Staff for further investigation and appropriate action.

The three police officers involved have also been withdrawn and are to report to the Ghana Police Service for investigation and disciplinary action.

“The tenets of National Security in Ghana should be based on a Whole-of-Government and a Whole-of- Society approach and cooperation from all well-meaning Ghanaians.”

“The Ministry assures the general public that measures continue to be taken to ensure the highest professional standards to engender public trust,” the statement signed by the Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah said.

The Ministry assured the general public and particularly all media practitioners that it will expeditiously investigate any complaints against any personnel of its Agencies.
