The Second Meeting of the First Session of the 8th Parliament is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, 25th May, 2021 at 10:00 am at Parliament House, Accra.

This meeting is expected to work on a number of Bills. These include:

Ghana Standards Authority Bill, 2021

Exemptions Bill, 2021

Consumer Protection Bill, 2021

Petroleum Revenue Management (Amendment) Bill, 2021

Advertising Council Bill, 2021

Budget Performance Report in respect of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the period of January to December, Budget Performance in respect of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for the period January to December, 2020 are among the papers to be presented to the House this meeting.

Motions for Debates will be admitted by the Speaker and there are also some petitions before the House.

A release from Parliament indicates that sector ministers are expected to attend upon the House to answer questions related to their ministries.

The Appointments Committee will also commence its public hearings to vet the President’s nominees for Minister of State and Deputy Ministerial positions.

The Public Accounts Committee is also expected to hold its public hearings to examine reports from the Auditor General’s Department and other related matters.

Other Select Committees will also sit as part of Parliament’s oversight duties.

Members and staff of the Parliamentary Service are entreated to take note and attend upon the House timeously and in strict compliance with all Covid-19 protocols.
