The police in Sogakope in the Volta Region had a ghastly experience last Saturday when angry youth of the community dumped a corpse at the station.

The youth left the corpse in a coffin at the charge office of the Sogakope Police Station to protest attempts by the police to halt Burial of the deceased.

Information indicated that the deceased, a member of Eworyl family of Sokpoe, a suburb of Sogakope had mysteriously died in his room.

The family, however, proceeded to prepare the corpse for burial on the same day.

The police reportedly stormed the funeral grounds but the corpse had already been transported to the cemetery for burial.

The officers therefore proceeded to the cemetery in the company of the family head.

The presence of the police, a source said, angered the youth who threaten to attack the but the officers managed to get away.

However, at about 8:00 o’clock in the night, the youth carried the coffin with the deceased to the Sogakope Police Station and left on Charge Office counter.

The police therefore conveyed the corpse to the Richard Novati Catholic Hospital mortuary.
