Asante Kotoko are set to play Egyptian side Arab Contractors SC after the club officially agreed to honour the 20th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II anniversary cup in May

The Mountain Wolves lads will face the Porcupine Warriors next month to mark the 20th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II reign as king of the Asante Kingdom.

A delegation of the Egyptian club arrived in Ghana earlier this week to conclude talks with the organizers and Asante Kotoko officials.

The officials of Sheer Group were at the secretariat of Asante Kotoko on Monday before meeting the executive director of the club, Dr. Kwame Kyei in Accra on Tuesday morning.

“Both clubs have agreed to honour the match. Officials of Arab Contractors were in touch to finalize deal with the organizers and Asante Kotoko,” a close source told Kickgh.com in an exclusive interview.

“The match will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium next month [May]. The match is to commemorate the enthronement of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II”

According to reports, German-based company, Sheer Group are the organizers of the anniversary match.

The last time the Ghana Premier League side faced a club in an international friendly was three ago against Serbian club FK Jagodina.

Arab Contractors currently lies sixth position on the 2018/19 Egypt Premier League table with 40 points after match-day 29.
