The Chief of Anum-Asamankese and his elders have distanced themselves from all allegations levelled against the MCE for Lower West Akim Municipality, Seth Oduro Boadu.

According to them, the alleged acts of insubordinate and disregard for traditional authorities are not a true reflection of his working relationship with the chiefs and people of Anum-Asamakese.

“We strongly believe the honourable MCE has been wrongly targeted in his quest to unite both traditional authorities through active participation in the local governance process,” they said.

At a press conference to set the records straight, the Chief and elders, indicated they are unable to resist the temptation of responding to series of pressers from various groups on allegations against the MCE.

They stated that Asamankese is not a traditional area as being mention in the presser but has two important chiefs i.e Osabarimah Adu Darko III and Barimah Essah Kwesi Mensah Bediako III.

According to them, these two chiefs serve under the Ose3wuo division headed by the chief of Akyem Wenchi, Dasebre Dr. Nyarko Asumadu Appiah with its overlord being the Okyehene, H.M Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin and therefore these traditional areas are siblings serving one great father.

The MCE, they said, has been wrongly targeted in his quest to unite both traditional authorities through active participation in the local governance process.

“It is a judicial notice that our brothers from the other side have a calculated agenda in suppressing and undermining the relevance of his traditional brother, the Anum-Asamankese Hene”

“The educational committee that was recently formed by the Hon MCE had representatives from both sides of the traditional divide. Strangely, this did not go down well with our neighbours,” they alleged.

Organizers of such pressers, they said, should read their history books well in order to feed the general public with information that is sacred, factual, credible and devoid of sensationalism and water emotions.

Anum-Asamankese group assured President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that they would not join the bandwagon in making a cacophony of emotional request and stampeding the selection process with unfounded allegations at a time the President needs a sound mind to form his next government after a hectic campaign.

They expressed conviction the President would appoint an MCE who shares in his vision and has a proven track record of competence to represent him to deliver on his national agenda.
