DIZZIED MONA QUARTEY SINGS FROM THE GRAVE!

The by-products of such policy documents were excruciating and unbearable hardships which plagued the citizenry for the entire duration of the eight years they were in power.

The Akufo-Addo-led government has presented a budget statement whose reception by the general public has been phenomenally unprecedented, and this singular fact seems to have sent shockwaves down the jittery spines of members of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

In their unflagging hunger to stay afloat as the raging storm arising out of this budget seems to be more than their loins could withstand, members of the opposition party are frantically engaging in a well rehearsed, choreographed agenda of insinuating that the budget read by Mr. Ken Ofori-Attah contains information quite detrimental to the growth of the Ghanaian economy.

In fulfillment of this tendentious agenda, self-appointed spokespersons of the opposition National Democratic Congress have taken to radio and television stations to project this unwholesome agenda. Mona Quartey, a former deputy minister for finance, has described the budget to be shallow, hollow and unrealistic.

A few facts from yesterday could easily unveil what might be shrouded in a blurry world of enigma about this woman. The Ghanaian economy was distressed beyond normalcy. Seth Terkpeh and his deputy Ato Forson, had messed things up, and a messiah was required to salvage the situation. Famished eyes scanned across the globe, and got fixated on Mona Quartey as the perfect candidate with the magical wand to resuscitate an economy which had been plunged into a quagmiry abyss.

So much of what she came on board with hinged on theory, but not the practical aspects of the expertise she was known to be in possession of. Mona Quartey proved to be a flop of an epic pedigree. She became an albatross instead of the asset she was supposed to be.

It beats my imagination how a monumental flop like Mona Quartey whose verbose ideas failed to make a modicum of impact on the economy, could boastfully attempt to create the erroneous impression that the budget cannot be relied upon as it cannot achieve the goals set for it.

What is a truism is the fact that these remnants of incompetence find themselves a long way away in terms of Ghanaians seeing them as worthy enough to be given another opportunity to govern them, hence these hard-to-assimilate course of action.

Mona Quartey is a classic example of a huge odum tree with a huge hole in its core, such a tree is as useless as a dead goat!
