Former President Mahama is alleged to have refused to shake hands with controversial man of God, Rev Owusu Bempah at the premises of the Holy Ghost Revival Centre of the Assemblies of God Church located at South Odorkor in the Greater Accra region.
The two leading figures in the country had been invited by the Church to grace its 30th anniversary celebration.
But things got to a head when Rev Bempah who had in the past, criticized and called the former President names, attempted to exchange pleasantries with the guests present.
When he got to the former President who also doubles as the flag bearer of the opposition NDC, some well-built men said to belong to the camp of Mr Mahama decided to accost the Prophet leading to a squabble.
In the ensuing melee, Rev Owusu Bempah was whisked to safety to avoid being manhandled by the macho men.
The Founder and Leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International has never hidden his disdain for the former President and rubbished his re-election bid saying he can never be President of Ghana again.
“In all honesty, in the realm of the spirit, our former President John Dramani Mahama’s seat is non-existent. I am not saying this to discourage the NDC but I am telling them the truth that the existing seats remaining for the next Presidents in the world to use are all there. After Nana Akufo-Addo, the seat for the next person to be President of Ghana is there and his name is attached to the seat and this is how it is in the whole world. There are a lot of seats of governments with names attached to them in the realms of the spirit and former President Mahama’s seat is not among those who are next to rule their respective countries,” the Prophet told a radio station in Accra last October.
