Ghana’s COVID-19 case count reaches 11,422

Ghana’s case count of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) hit 11,422 as of Sunday, June 14, 2020.

The number of people who have recovered has climbed to 4,156 while the death toll is now  51.

Updates by the Ghana Health Service continue to show a steady increase in the number of active cases.

The current number of active cases is 7,215 most of whom the GHS indicates are asymptomatic.

Currently, 24 people are in severe and critical conditions in various health facilities in Accra and Kumasi with 4 of them on ventilators.

304 new cases were reported on Sunday.

The Greater Accra continues to carry the majority burden of the COVID-19 in Ghana with 6,997 cases followed by the Ashanti Region which is nearing 2,021 cases and the Western Region whose case count continues to increase sharply with 951.

Ghana confirmed its first two cases of COVID-19 on March 12, 2020.

Globally the cases have surpassed 7,939,938 worldwide with over 433,904 deaths and 4,078,652 recoveries as at Sunday late afternoon.
