The New Patriotic Party(NPP) National Treasure hopeful, Mrs. Mary Posch Oduro has been fingered in the party’s Germany branch election fraught that took place last Saturday, 17 March in Düsseldorf.

According to a press release signed by the party branch’s secretary, Nana Kofi, the election went of successful as planned, but the Chairmanship position contest was hit with electoral malpractice including over-voting and impersonation.

The branch secretary, Nana Kofi noted that, at the centre of this “shameful dispute and controversies” was Mrs. Mary Posch Oduro, an election committee member, and the party’s national treasure hopeful who bent all rules to favour her favorites.

“Evidence available clearly supports the allegations of impersonation and multiple voting culminating in massive electoral fraud to the advantage of the incumbent, Alex Acheampong, Mrs. Oduro’s candidate for the Chairmanship position”, Nana Kofi said.

Due to the alleged electoral malpractices, the EC have suspended the declaration of the results for the Chairmanship contest.

Nana Kofi, in the release said, the party has also uncovered the faces behind the barbaric and primitive deity curses unleashed on the members of the party in Germany.

The deity curses were unleashed that every NPP delegate in the Germany branch who would vote for Mrs. Rebecca Sarpong, popularly called “Obaatanpa Becky” would die. A video was circulated on social media platforms sometime last week, showing some Ghanaians calling certain rivers in Ghana to kill anybody who vote in favour of “Obaatanpa Becky”.

This raises serious concern with a section Ghanaian of communities in Germany and elsewhere condemning the act, and describing it as barbaric, and those behind the act if found should be brought to book by the party’s.

“We have also identified the former chairman, Alex Aheampong as the sponsor and the person behind the barbaric and primitive deity curses that was unleashed on us. We condemn it with no uncertainty, call for the suspension of these persons and their leader”, he said.

“We are also calling on the National Executives of the party to call Mrs. Posch Oduro, who is vying for the National Treasure position to order, and be removed from the committee. Our investigations revealed that she was the architect of all these malpractices which has brought the party’s name into disrupt”, he noted.

The statement concluded that, Mrs. Rebecca Sarpong, an aggrieved contestant in the chairmanship race had filed a petition at the NPP’s headquarters in Ghana calling for annulment of the elections and a re-run.
