The Ghana Armed Forces have commenced the fourth phase of Operation Halt II aimed at removing all persons and logistics involved in mining from water bodies.
The new phase of the operation, according to a statement by the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, focuses on the Ankobra river and its tributaries.

The operation, he said, is being undertaken by 401 men of all ranks.
The public is therefore advised to stay away from mining in water bodies to avoid any action by the forces.
