John Dramani Mahama once again justifies why he cannot disgorge himself from the incompetent tag with his proposed absorption of academic user fees in what he terms as free tertiary education for first year students.
It is as though the entire NDC fraternity has been cursed. Nobody in the party, not even grandma Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, could remind Mahama that academic user fees amount to zilch in the scheme of things.
For the education of John Mahama and his lousy lieutenants who are making a fuss about this issue, academic user fee is just a component of the entire university admission fees.
Whoever has secured admission to the university and has taken the pain to go through the breakdown of their admission fees will testify to this. For instance, if you are paying GHc2,500 as admission fee, note that academic user fee, which is a component of the composite fee, may be around 300 or 250, not the entire GHc 2,500 university admission fee.
How does a proposed policy of abolishing just the academic user fees constitute giving first year students in tertiary institutions free education?
These NDC elements have reverse mentality. How can scrapping GHC250 or GHC300 out of GHC2500 be termed as giving free education to first year students?
No thinking went into this proposition. They were enamoured by the phraseology ‘academic user fee’ and inserted same into their document.
In government, they were very incompetent but in opposition, they are more than useless. The academics amongst them are not even useful to them. It takes a great deal of effort to belong to NDC.
Who actually organized such unintelligent people into a political party for them to be serving us such unpalatable ideas? How do they lead us with such a mentality? God, never let these never-do-wells come to power, for you’d always see our tears and hear our cries. May we never see these people in power!
