The program was organized to invite all citizens residing in and outside Asamankese to come together and discuss the development of the town as they were served with hot fried yam and fish for free and music.

As it was programmed, some of the youth were given the platform to voice out the problems they are facing or going through in the town, which mostly bothers on  work and unemployment.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman for the occasion, Nana Bempong, C.E.O of Noble Quality Roofing in Tema, commended the members of the Lions Club for such a laudable program to unite the town. As he agrees with the organizers on the brain behind the event, he also used the occasion to advised the youth of Asamankese to stay away from social vices that may influence their life in future but rather concentrate on their books and any hand skills training they are undertaking and respect their elders.

Nana Bempong also called on elders and well to do in the society and those from Asamankese to join hands with the Young Lions Club to do something to help the youth, especially those who have completed various stages of school and seeking for employment.

“I will plead with you, my brothers and sisters to come together to do something to help our younger ones since they are our future leaders. If we don’t do it, nobody will come to their aid and as the saying goes “the devil gives ideal hands work to do”, and that too will create problems for us”, he said.

He lamented that, there are a lot of work to do when it comes to development of the town. Nana Bempong said, Asamankese is a popular town, but lacks many developmental projects. “It’s now up to us to take it on our shoulders to meet the government halfway as the government alone cannot do it. So please let’s use our links and offices we are occupying now to build human capacity to develop Asamankese, our own town”, he ended.

Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Kyei Baffour also congratulated the members of the Club for their support and ideas for the town, adding that he will partner the Young Lions Club in his development agenda to develop the youth and the town.

He re-echoed the New Patriotic Party(NPP) government’s commitment in youth development and developmental projects which will be carried out across the country, adding Asamankese will not be left out.
