Jacob Akumbisah is reported to have laid one Rashida Alira (Theresa) in the studios allegedly taking advantage of his being the only person at the station during the time of the incident.
He expressed shock that exactly a week after the incident, the victim went to lodge a complaint with the police leading to his arrest.
Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko who gave an account of what happened said :”According to the lady, that was the first day that he got to know her through another person, they went to a spot where they sat down and conversed and had drinks, it was after that the guy suggested that she followed him to the radio station, so that he would cast the news and also for her to know where he worked and then he’ll see her off afterwards”
It was then at the station the presenter started making advances and when he was facing residence he was reported to have overpowered the woman and forcibly had sex with her.
The police indicate that they are still investigating the matter and will soon arraign the suspect before court charged with various counts including rape.
