31st December Women, Mokasa Foundation donate to Mental Hospital and GAMA

The 31st December Women’s Movement together with Mokasa Trust Foundation has donated quantities of items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital and the Greater Accra Markets Association respectively.

The items donated to the Psychiatric Hospital include 20 Boxes of hand sanitizers; 5 Boxes of toilet carbolic soap, 20 toilet rolls and 20 bags of sachet water.

The Greater Accra Markets Association received 10 boxes of hand sanitizers and carbolic soap.

Presenting the items, the Executive Director for Mokasa Trust Foundation, Ambassador Molly Anim-Addo said the donation signifies their appreciation to the sacrificial work that health practitioners are offering to mother Ghana in the fight against the fast-spreading of coronavirus in the country.

An Executive member of 31st December Women’s Movement and former Minister for Ministry of Health, Hon. Sherry Ayittey pointed out that the nature of work that health practitioners of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital undertake requires that they protect themselves from the coronavirus, hence the presentation of the items.

The Medical Director of Accra Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Apaw Penamang who received the donation on behalf of the hospital management, thanked Executives of 31st December Women’s Movement and the Executive Director for Mokasa for the honor done them.

She called on the various NGOs, agencies and organizations to come to their aid, stressing that her outfit is faced with lot of challenges.

Dr. Penamang pledged management’s commitment to make good use of the items, adding the current situation requires regularly washing of hands and the application of hand sanitizers.

Hon. Sherry Ayittey urged Executives of the Greater Accra Markets Association to distribute the items to the various market Queens so that they can equally serve visitors that call on them.

The President of the Accra Markets Association, Madam Mercy Afrowa Needjan, on behalf of its members and the entire Executives, expressed their gratitude to Leaders of the 31st December Women’s Movement and the Executive Director of Mokasa for coming to their aid.

Mrs. Victoria Kuma-Mintah, an Executive member of 31st December was among the dignitaries that accompanied Hon. Sherry Ayittey to make the presentation.
