A Non-Governmental Organization, Pomaa Nyiraa Foundation, has donated some hospital equipment to the 37 Military Hospital as part of their contribution to equip the facility.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Nana Hemaa Pomaa Nyiraa I, Dormaa Tumtum Ankobeahemaa who is based in Italy, the donation is part of the Foundation’s thank you to the Hospital for the role they played during the 3 June 2015 circle fire disaster that claimed over 100 lifes.
Pomaa Nhyira Foundation also played a very key role by paying bills for some of the survived victims and have put them under the foundation’s care.

Nana Hemaa Pomaa Nyiraa I, donating the equipments at the 37 Military Hospital said the foundation was very surprised and astonished when all hope was lost for some of the victims, but Doctors were able to do surgery for these victims and by the Grace of God, they are among the living today.
“The Doctors had to go the theatre 25 times for surgeries on Kassim’s head, one of the victims, before he could survive. And this tells you how good our Ghanaian Doctors are, and for us to appreciate them, we are donating these equipment to them to say ‘thank you”.
She appealed to the Government of Ghana to come to the aid of the surviving victims, since most of them cannot do any hard work to earn something for living.
She said life has become very unbearable for some, who are deformed now.

Nana Pomaa Nhyira said, though her outfit, with support from the Italian government has helped a lot of these victims, they still need help to make life a bit comfortable for them.
Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital, Col. Azuma Gbanwa Bugiri, receiving the items thanked Nana Hemaa Pomaa Nyiraa I and her Foundation for such a great gesture and promised they will be put to good use.
He said though it was a national disaster that nobody prays for to happen again, he very much appreciates the support Nana Hemaa gave to the hospital and the patients when they were admitted at the facility.

Earlier in the day, the Nana Pomaa Nyiraa Foundation organized an event to commemorate the six years of the disaster and wreath were laid in honour of the departed souls at the old GOIL fuel filling station near Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra where the incident happened.
The surviving victims who came from across the country were fed and given some dresses by the Nana Pomaa Nyiraa Foundation.
