The Member of Parliament for Kumbungu is demanding President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo be placed under quarantine when he returns home from his European tour.
According to the MP, the growing threats of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the fact that 48 countries have reported cases of the infection including neighbouring Nigeria demands entrants into Ghana to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
Ras Mubarak, who made the demand stressed that President Akufo-Addo on his tour of Europe will visit Norway, Scotland, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Belgium.
Four of these destinations, he said, have reported cases of the Covid-19.

The United Kingdom has reported 19 cases while Norway has reported 6, Belgium 1, and Switzerland 6.
He questioned whether the President will submit himself to a 14-day mandatory quarantine after returning home from these countries.
Ras Mubarak noted that Mongolia’s President Battulga Khaltmaa and other government officials submitted to 14-day quarantine after they returned home from their visit to China.
Battulga is the first head of state to visit China since the country began implementing special measures to curb the Coronavirus outbreak in January.
They were taken into quarantine as soon as they arrived in Mongolia as a precautionary measure.
The MP wondered whether similar precautionary measures would be applied when President Akufo-Addo returns from Europe.
Ras Mubarak appealed to Parliament to invite the Minister of Health to update the House on Ghana’s preparedness against the coronavirus.
He argued that the situation of the infection has deteriorated since the Minister last addressed Parliament and stressed Ghanaians need to be informed on new measures to commensurate with the spread of the disease.
