Abu Jinapor engages US EPA Administrator on critical forest and climate change

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources in Ghana, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, has engaged the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)on critical forest and climate issues.

Mr. Michael S. Regan, Administrator of the US EPA was at the Ministry along with H.E. Virginia Evelyn Palmer, the US Ambassador to Ghana.

Key topics at the meeting included the Forest and Climate Leaders’ Partnership (FCLP), where both Ghana and the United States are prominent players, and Ghana’s “Resilient Ghana” Country Package, an initiative focused on protecting and expanding the nation’s forest resources.

Mr. Regan commended Ghana’s leadership in climate action efforts and reaffirmed the US’s commitment to collaborate towards maintaining global temperatures within a 1.5-degree Celsius increase.

Under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration, with Lawyer Samuel A. Jinapor at the helm of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Ghana is committed to the sustainable management of its natural resources.

This commitment not only benefits the people of Ghana but also contributes significantly to the worldwide battle against climate change.
