The group fed over 2,000 residents, made up of children and adults from the community and its environs concurrently with the medical screening.
Speaking to Frontpageghana.com, the Founder & President of the group, Rev. Mrs. Dora Tackie-Yarboi said, the Chosen Woman Conference, made up of Pastors Wives and Women in the Lord’s Ministry has taken upon themselves to embark on medical outreach program annually to help create awareness and provide medication for some illnesses like Malaria which is preventable and affordable to treat, but also very deadly.
The outreach program provides Breast Cancer screening and deworming of the children but with this year’s program, they decided to include Hepatitis B screening and vaccination due to its high prevalence rate in the society.
She said their passion is to be a blessing to the communities by serving them and trying to provide their needs by way of free medical screening and feeding, apart from the conferences and workshops they organises for the Women in the Ministry.
“We always do this in the communities with a medical team and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We’ve being doing this for the past seven years and have been to Manste Agbona, Nsawam Medium Prisons Female ward, La Poly Clinic and many other places within these period,” she said.
According to her, everywhere they go, they preach the gospel of the Lord to the people, make donations, organized free medical screening and free food for the inhabitants.
“As this year marks the seventh year, we prayed to God and He directed us to come here to be a blessing to the community. Whilst the screening and feeding were on-going, we would also preach the Good News to win Souls to Our Lord Jesus Christ” she noted.
Rev. Mrs. Tackie-Yarboi also revealed that what motivated them was the Word of the Lord, “which says we should be a blessing to others with the little He has blessed us with.”
She continued that “as the Bible says, there is a blessing in giving then receiving and as Women in the Ministry, it is our passion to see the poor or the needy also laughing and healthy as we are, hence this outreach program”, she added.
They also revealed that they reach out to some companies and individuals for sponsorship, who also never hesitate to come on board to help with some assorted goods to be a blessing to all.
The Chosen Woman Conference
The Chosen Woman Ministry creates a forum where Pastor’s Wives and Women in Ministry, would be inspired and equipped to fulfill their God given mandate and make an impact in their various ministries/churches.
Seasoned Women and Men of God are occasionally invited to reach and speak during its Biannual Conference mostly held in June and November, every year. The conference seeks to engage participants in an interactive discourse with aim of augmenting their ministry and equipping them to show forth the wonderful deeds of Christ.
GOALS
- To Glorify God through prayer, fellowship and use of all their God given talents and gifts.
- To bring together Pastors wives and women in ministry to network, share ideas, sharpen visions, build confidence and equip them to do the work of the ministry.
- To empower women in ministry to do exploits in their fields of endeavor
- To equip women in ministry through the enhancement of their leadership and communication skills and the use of technological tools that will help them fulfill their calling.
- To help develop ideas and business skills to create wealth and grow their ministries.
- To explore scriptures that will help them respond to changing trends and times.
