Centre4TransAtlantic for Leadership and Progressive Studies (CTALPS), a non-governmental organization, has donated some life jackets to pupils of Weija Basic Model and Primary school in the Greater Accra region.
Over 40 pieces of Life Jackets were donated at the request of some teachers who see the danger their pupils go through every day to and from school.
The pupils, between the ages of five and fifteen every morning, cross the Densu River at the Weija end to school from other communities behind the banks of the river and cross back to their homes facing dangers, especially when it rains, or the dam is opened for spillage by Ghana Water Company Limited.

Presenting the items on behalf of CTALPS, Dr. Stella Nunga advised the pupils to handle the jackets very well to at least last them for some time.
She told them to also respect their elders, teachers and parents both at home and school.
“CTALPS is very happy to be with you and lend this assistance to you. We know how dangerous it is for you to be crossing this river every day to and from school without life jackets. You also need to be in school to learn and become good future leaders,” Dr. Nunga stated.
As CTALPS always stands for, to help develop talents, we are assisting you with life Jackets so you will be able to go to school and learn and in the near future, will discover your talents,” she added.

Country President of the organization, Mr. Samuel Osei Agyei, tasked the kids, especially the JHS pupils, to keep to their books and be careful with the kind of friends they make.
He also warned them to be serious with their studies and be firm against any peer pressure.
In a related development, Mr. Osei Agyei on behalf of the group earlier presented some medical supplies and PPEs to Anum-Asamankese CHPS Compound in the Eastern region.
This followed a workshop organized for teachers in that area, where the members of CTALPS took the opportunity to visit the Anum CHPS Compound.
They promised to help the facility with some medical equipment.
