The Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Nana Adwoa Poh Dwamena II has pleaded with President Akufo-Addo not to reappoint the Tano South MCE.

In a petition to the Vetting Committee in charge of the appointments of MMDCEs, she noted that the Tano South MCE has been disrespectful to her and the traditional authority on many occasions.

“The MCE insulted all of us when we invited him to discuss some important matters about Bechem,” part of the petition read.

“Several attempts were made to get him to apologize to us for disrespecting us but he refused to heed to our calls,” she said in her petition.

“We are pleading with President Nana Addo to appoint an MCE who has the interest of the Municipality at heart and will sit down with Nananom to discuss the development of the Municipality.”

“We plead with the President to give us another person as MCE for Tano South,” the statement concluded.

The NPP has set up a national committee to vet the various aspiring candidates for MMDCEs after the party organized regional-based ones.

It is at this national vetting committee that the Bechem Queen Mother petitioned the President through the members of the committee not to appoint Hon. Collins Offinam Takyi again for the Municipality else they will advise themselves, because they cannot work with a disrespectful person.
