Independent presidential candidate in the 2012 and 2016 elections, Jacob Osei Yeboah, aka JOY, is calling for a referendum to put the LGBQTI debate to rest.

According to him, what Ghana needs is to hold a referendum to amend the 1992 Constitution and include in it a definite decision on LGBTQI.

LGBTQI functions, he said, make human beings an endangered species on earth and questioned who will call for wisdom to stop it.

He wrote, “Since 2011, a decade ago when I stated what we need to do in order to put LGBTQI matters to rest. It is about REFERENDUM, REFERENDUM and REFERENDUM.”

“Ghana is destined to show leadership.”

JOY made the call on his Facebook wall in response to news of a top diplomat chiding Ghanaians to stop blaming President Akufo-Addo over the opening of an LGBT office in Ghana.

According to him, the Diplomat’s comment is either ignorance of the law or conscientious stupidly.

“It is criminal in Ghana for LGBTQI to operate. Simplicita! And until that law is expunged from our laws, the precedence by LGBTQI is dangerous and should never be entertained.”

“However, ignorance of the law is not an excuse and so all the other countries’ diplomats should be made to apologize to Ghanaians and to the government or be made to leave Ghana within 24hrs.”

Mr. Osei Yeboah argued that it is dangerous for LGBTQI advocates to rather tell Ghanaians it is unlawful to take lawful action to shut down the office.

“If Armed Robbers established an office in Ghana, the diplomat after having the knowledge would still hold a view that it is freedom of association,” he quizzed?

“What an irony from a coward, free but still bonded in mentality. The argument is baseless and the government as an agency of trust by Ghanaians should act accordingly by respecting the laws of Ghana.”

“That is what the President swore to Ghanaians,” he said.

He noted that if the government was unaware of the office then what about now.

Joy charged Ghanaians and Religious leaders to lead the charge against LGBTQI in Ghana as President Akufo-Addo is powerless with the world’s superpowers.

He questioned whether Ghanaians or Africans could establish a polygamous office in any western nation adding, “How can you even get it registered?”

He expressed profound appreciation to the Catholic Bishop Conference of Ghana for speaking truth to power on the matter.
