Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasised the importance of collective effort and called for a rediscovery of patriotism among citizens to achieve shared success.
He expressed optimism and confidence in the prospects for the year 2024.
Dr. Bawumia expressed hope that the onset of the new year serves as an opportunity for reflection and a fresh start, focusing on the prospects that lie ahead.
This was contained in his New Year message in which he also extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Ghana.
Reiterating the commitment of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, the Vice President pledged to simplify life for Ghanaians.
He outlined ongoing initiatives, including the drive towards a modern and resilient economy through digitalization, preparing the youth for the future, and creating ample opportunities for individuals to realize their dreams.
Bawumia envisioned building upon Ghana’s landmark 30 years of democracy, expressing certainty that the nation has matured and will continue to demonstrate its progress to the world.
As the NPP candidate for the upcoming general elections in 2024, he underscored the significance of entering the new year with optimism and hope.
Dr. Bawumia challenged Ghanaians to take pride in their history and unite to propel the nation forward in this election year.
The Vice President, however, issued a cautionary note, stressing the interdependence of individual well-being and national development on factors such as peace, social cohesion, and national stability, especially in the context of following news from Africa and beyond.
