Parliamentary Press Corps Organizer to be honoured

The Organizing Secretary of the Parliamentary Press Corps (PPC), Samuel Osei Agyei (Sammy Agyei), would be honoured by the Chiefs and people of Anum-Asamankese for his sterling contribution to the community and respect to both old and young during the Akwasidae.

Popularly referred to as Sammy Lou Fu Yu by his Chinese partners and close friends, his work in the community has captured the attention of the stakeholders of Anum-Asamankese Traditional Area, hence the decision of the Chief, Barimah Essah Kwasi Mensah Bediako III and his elders to honour him.

The event will take place at the 6th Akwasidae on Sunday 19th September 2021 at the Anum-Asamankese durbar grounds.

The Abontendomhene, Nana Kwasi Anyani who announced this during the last Akwasidae observed that Sammy Agyei has been instrumental in the development of the community including bringing his foreign partners who did tremendous work for the people.

The community, he said, acknowledges his efforts especially because these foreign partners have pledged to return and provide the people with more development projects and social services.

Even before they left, they donated a number of medical supplies to the Community’s clinic.

Sammy, he said, has persistently supported the community with a lot of items and products that have helped ease the burden of the people.

He said, “Barimah Essah Kwasi Mensah Bediako III said we should thank Sammy Agyei and say a good job well done for all his efforts in the community.”

“Barimah and his people acknowledge your efforts and will therefore formally recognize all the work you have done for us by honouring you to be part of the Chiefs to help develop Anum-Asamankese.”

“Such are the people we need in helping to build a healthy and better community for all,” he concluded.

The event is from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th September 2021.
