Member of Parliament for Lower West Akyem Constituency, Mr. Charles Acheampong, has called on his Polling Station Executives and the party as a whole to respect their elders.

He said some NPP supporters like never before, have taken the path of castigating their leaders for no reason.

According to the Member of Parliament, some Executives have made it their ‘character’ to be insulting other Executive members, especially he, the MP because their favourite did not win the parliamentary primaries.

“Some people, especially we the Polling Station Executives have learnt something which was not in the past. We have rather learnt what the NDC used to do. They insult and castigate their leaders and opponents, and it seems we are also taking that path of late,” he said.

He urged them to stop that habit, which according to him, is rather the office they are running down, and not him.

He said, “Let’s respect the office. If you insult me, you are insulting those who voted for me at the Polling Stations, and not me as a person. So I plead with you to consult or approach any executive on an issue you don’t understand and they will explain things to you. That will be better than the insults we rain on our various NPP platforms in the Constituency.”

Charles Acheampong said these when he addressed party faithful at their Annual Delegates Conference at Asamankese in the Eastern region on Tuesday 24th August, 2021.

The party also used the occasion to announce to the supporters a ban the Executives have placed on creating WhatsApp or Facebook platforms in the name of the party in the constituency without Executive approval.
The executives also hinted at creating a WhatsApp group for all polling station executives so they can share their problems and information.

They also announced the party’s calendar of activities for 2021/2022, which include polling station, constituency regional and national executive’s election.

Due to the coronavirus and as put out by the national office, the constituency was divided into four (4) zones to avoid crowding.

Present at the conference were all the Constituency Executives, Seth Oduro Boadu, MCE, West Akyem Municipal and Nana Yaa Ofori-Attah, Regional Financial Secretary.
