Some polling station executives and some constituents of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, including some students of the University of Ghana and GIMPA clashed at the NPP Greater Accra Regional Party Office each clamouring for one of the widows to replace her late husband.

Mr. Agyarko passed away on November 21, 2018, from a prolonged illness, and he’s yet to be buried. While a date is yet to be fixed for a bye-election, posters of both widows have emerged with passionate supporters calling on
the two wives of the late NPP MP to go for their late husband’s seat as MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon.

MyNewsGh.com sampled some of the views of Ghanaians and it is generally bad.

“Here is Widows wanting to be MPs after their husband’s death… Eiii Ghana! Greed or selfishness? They have enjoyed the loot and share so much that they can’t see it leave their family…hmmmmm.”

“As a student of politics, I can only hope the story making rounds that two wives (Widows) of the late Ayawaso West Wuogon MP Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko below are slugging it out to replace him as Mp isn’t true. This is beyond comprehension. I mean the man has not yet even been buried. These actions might end up causing the party the seat if care isn’t taken. #GhWeDey”

“Everybody wants power sooner or later we all turn politicians and we shall see who will votes for who”

“Are this women worth marrying. Even when their husband is still in the morgue.” “This is witchcraft

“If these trend of wives must succeed their late husband’s as MP’s….then expect more male MPs to die”

“In the chest of a woman is not only an extension of the breast and a feeble heart but a strong desire to hold and use power!””

“He is yet to be buried and his wives are fighting for his seat. You see how heartless some people can be?”

“Women 0f nowadays! Or world of our times….. too materialistic, thought you should mourn your loss”

“ let the dead remain dead and the living fight for survival, u have no idea how long they’ve eyes that position.”

“May God help us all Ghanaians and sentiments. Are they women qualified and capable? That is what we should be looking at. I support any of dem to step up and continue their husband’s legacy. Its a nyc attempt.”

“Is the seat for the family? And why are they fighting over seat in parliament whilst their husband is yet to be buried?” Hmmm is a pity”

“What if Hon. Agyarko suddenly wakes up? Remember that he is not yet buried so anything can happen.”

“We are living in a material world. A third person should take the seat. If this proposed trend succeeded most of the MPs wives will take over the parliament by 2030……….”

“This nonsense must stop. Are we practicing a monarchy? Then if a sitting president dies his wife should be made the president.”
