Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs has taken another jab at his former party.
According to him, nobody can point fingers at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as being corrupt.
President Nana Akufo-Addo, he said, has never and will never be corrupt in his lifetime.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs who served the NDC party for many years but was sacked recently said his sacking from the party was a blessing in disguise, and that he is now free to speak his mind without fear or favour from the NDC.
He said, “My brothers and sisters, fellow Ghanaians I repeat again that Nana Addo the President and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces is not corrupt, cannot be corrupt, and will not be corrupt, Is the sound clear,” he asked?
Mr. Allotey Jacobs made this statement against his former party, the NDC who have consistently said President Akufo-Addo is the most corrupt leader Ghana has ever had.
The NDC claims Akufo-Addo brands himself as an incorruptible leader, but is very corrupt and that he has no political will to fight corruption in the country.
However, the NDC former Central Regional Chairman thinks otherwise of the President.
He still maintains that the President is clean when it comes to corruption and all that the NDC are saying about him (Nana Akufo-Addo) are just to score political points, “but Ghanaians are wise,” he added.
During the 2020 election year, the NDC listed alleged scandals in the Akufo-Addo government and named it ‘The top ten monumental scandals of the Akufo-Addo government’ and cited among them the alleged 500 missing excavators, PDS scandal, contract for sale at PPA, the BOST contaminated fuel saga and the Agyapa Royalties deal.
These were top on the NDC’s campaign message against the NPP government in the 2020 election, claiming these were enough justification for Ghanaian electorates to boot the Akufo-Addo government out when they went to the polls.
But according to Allotey Jacobs, all these were just noise-making in the ears of the Ghanaian as they know Akufo-Addo cannot be corrupt, and it was just daydreaming by the NDC.
