“I’m at home”, Dr. Bawumia stated as he engaged with the Muslim community. It was a relaxed atmosphere as the Veep availed himself to the community.

Dr. Bawumia has always identified and engaged with the Muslim Community/Ummah in prayers and in seeking blessings for mother Ghana from the Muslim Ummah.

The Chief Imam of the Ghanaian Mosque, Mallam Abdul- Razak and elders took turns to pray for Dr Bawumia and Ghana. And in line with Ghanaian Islamic practice, as a recent pilgrim to Mecca, Dr. Bawumia, in turn, offered Dua’a (prayers) and asked for Allah’s guidance and protection to all.

During the dua’a, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia told worshipers how thrilled he was to join them once again for Jummah prayers and recounted his experiences as a regular worshiper at the Mosque, prior to assuming the office of Vice President of Ghana.

He was accompanied by Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, who in his address, affirmed his commitment for continuous engagement with the Muslim community in London as with other Ghana communities, all over UK and Ireland.

The Khutbah (Sermon) covered test and steadfastness and the Imam entreated worshipers to be steadfast, patient and persevere in the face of such difficulties.

The Mosque elders present included Mallam Baban Yaara Haidara- Sarkin Faada, Mallam Ibrahim, Alhaji Sanusi Marafa, Alhaji Ridwanu, HajiaHajara Shardow, among others.

Leading the NPP Nasara UK to prepare and coordinate affairs were the Nasara UK Chairman, Mr. Sulemana Arafat, Vice Chair Mr. IssahAyumah and The Branch Deputy Organiser, Fauzan Shamsudeen.

They thanked the Veep for his hard work and the good works of the government back home. They wished him a successful stay in the UK and a safe trip back to Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia who was in the UK to participate in the Ghana Investment and Opportunities Summit, returned to Accra Thursday, October 25.
