Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, has denounced the 24-hour economy proposed by former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, such a policy will deny men access to their wives at night and cause them to lose their spouses

He argued that after working in the daytime and getting exhausted, they needed the night to sleep with their wives.

In a video that has gone viral, the Upper East Regional Minister, while addressing chiefs and New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters of Sakote in the Nabdan Constituency warned that a 24-hour economy would deny them this important marital function of having sex.

Stephen Yakubu argued Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is very much aware of the implications of Mahama’s 24-hour economy, which is why he is opposed to it.

He said, “When we work on our farmers and we are tired in the night we have to sleep with our wives ooo!”

“We have to be with our wives.”

“In the night you want us to go and be farming for people to steal wives, he quizzed?”

“People, we have to be careful with this 24-hour economy thing,” he warned.
