Some opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in the Okaikwei Central Constituency in the Greater Accra region have started complaining about their newly elected 2024 Parliamentary Aspirant, Abdullai Abu Sadiq, popularly called ‘Baba Sadiq.’

According to the NDC supporters who were ‘angered’ at a funeral last Sunday in the constituency, the former CEO of 3Music Awards disgraced them with a shameful donation he made at the funeral of one of the constituents.

“Why should a person vying to become a Member of Parliament on the ticket of the biggest opposition party like ours give GH¢50 as a funeral donation,” they questioned.
“If he didn’t have money for the donation, he should have told us, and we could have contributed to support him than this disgrace he has brought upon us in the constituency,” they lamented.

They added, “We all know what the sitting MP is doing to hold on to the seat for the NPP, so we shouldn’t give chances away if we are serious to take the seat from the NPP.”
They argued that the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kwame Zankor should have known better and advise Baba Sadiq or they should have discussed it before coming to the funeral grounds to put them in such mess.

The incident happened last Sunday during the funeral of Alhaji Yusif Nanpari, one of the known leaders in Abeka Botwe, one of the areas in the Okaikwei Central Constituency.
At the said funeral, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the area, Yaw Patrick Boamah, according to the people, paid for almost everything, which included the cost of water, canopies, chairs and other things.

This, the NDC supporters in the Constituency said, their candidate who ‘brags’ about being well to do and close to former President Mahama should have matched the sitting MP boot-for-boot, but failed to do so and rather disgraced them.
Among the delegation who accompanied Baba Sadiq to the funeral were Mr. Kwame Zankor, Amanda Apaw, Theophilus Anann and others.

Abdullai Abu Sadiq, known as Baba Sadiq, the founder and former CEO of 3Music Awards contested the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Primaries in the Okaikwei Central and emerged winner to contest on the ticket of the party in the 2024 general elections
