The much advertised 24-hour economy walk in Kumasi by the NDC has been postponed to an unknown date according to the regional executives of the party.

The walk which was to showcase the strength of the NDC in the region after seeing the massive turn up on the 2nd of December, 2023, by a similar walk that was organised by the butterfly movement had to be called off because of lack of enthusiasm amongst the supporters of the party in the region.

Contrary to what the executives of the NDC want us to believe, our sources say that the walk was called off because the numbers that the party was looking at having was becoming increasingly difficult as most members that they believed were members of the NDC on contacting them had indicated that they were now with the movement for change.

This reality led the NDC to call off the walk under the pretext that they did so to ensure that the District Level Elections were fully participated by NDC members and also to ensure that their members who contested won their various contests.

This reasons by the NDC could not be said to be true especially when it is a well known fact that District Level Elections are non-partisan and also the fact that before fixing the date for the walk, the ndc knew at all material time that there will be election of Assembly members and that with elections, you give yourself a day or two after before you engage in any activities.

Having spent so much on media advertisements and also grassroot mobilization with the view to shoring up numbers to showcase to the world how strong the ndc is in the Ashanti region and knowing how the numbers were going to be disappointing, because of the presence of the Movement for Change in the Ashanti region, they had to come out with this cock and bull story of District Level elections.

The NPP in a similar style has also postponed their much advertised walk on the 23rd of December 2023.

The same reason the NDC postponed is also their situation. Lack of enthusiasm amongst members and the fact that the region has been taking over by the movement for change.
