Ghana Police The Ghana Police Service has suspended General Corporal Wise Bessey, who is stationed at the Takoradi District Police Command, due to accusations of assaulting a civilian.

According to a police statement, the suspension is aimed at facilitating a detailed investigation into the incident and evaluating the officer’s compliance with the standards of professional conduct as defined by the Police Service Regulations.

In a reassuring development, the victim of the alleged assault has been personally contacted by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

The IGP extended the Police’s full support to the victim and guaranteed a thorough investigation into the incident.
