Former Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. James Agalga, has lamented that recruitment of hoodlums and party vigilantes into the security agencies is the cause of massive rot in the services.
According to him, officers can no longer carry out their duties in a competent and professional manner because of shambolic recruitments.
He said, “These individuals do not have the moral background or the academic qualification to be enrolled in our security services. They are recruited into our security agencies due to their party affiliations.”
“I have had cause to address this subject and how NPP party apparatchiks have infiltrated our security agencies.”
The former Deputy Minister stated these during an interview to address the Gestapo-style arrest of Apostle Kwabena Owusu Adjei by operatives of national security.
The incident was recorded and the video shared widely social media.

He noted that the procedure applied by the security operatives should be denounced by all right-thinking persons and highlights their lack of professionalism and understanding of arresting procedures.
He warned the country is now reaping the effects of the bad recruitment of unqualified persons into the security agencies.
Mr. Agalga charged President Akufo-Addo to make good the oath he took before Parliament and the good people of Ghana when he was sworn in as President and respect the oath of office and the laws of the country on the freedom to free expression.
Ghanaians, he said, adopted a Constitution that tasks the President to take an oath to protect this supreme law document.
He warned the spirit of Ghanaians cannot be broken and that they will continue to hold the President to the fire of accountability.
Akufo-Addo, he said, must be held accountable to the people because sovereignty resides in them and not in the presidency.
