Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has disassociated himself from a Facebook account bearing his name used to make spurious allegations against former President John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, the said Facebook Account does not belong to him and that he has never owned a Facebook Account or caused any such Account to be opened and operated in his name.
The Minority leader, in a statement, described the account as fake and urged the public, especially the rank and file of the NDC party to disregard the post with contempt it deserves.
He said, “The said Facebook Account purported to be in my name is FAKE and so is the said post on the Account.”
“The creation of the Account and the post therein are mere attempts by our detractors to sow seeds of discontent within the hierarchy of the Party and to smear my person but they shall definitely Fail.”

PRESS STATEMENT BY HON. MINORITY LEADER IN RESPONSE TO A POST ON A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT PURPORTED TO BE AN ACCOUNT OF HON. HARUNA IDDRISU
My attention has been drawn to a story published on a Facebook page of “Hon. Haruna Iddrisu” dated 5th March 2021 in which I am alleged to have accused the former President of a number of things including a reference to him as a coward.
For the record, I wish to state that the said Facebook Account does not belong to me and that I have never owned a Facebook Account neither have I caused any such Account to be opened and operated in my name.
Indeed, I have never been on social media. I have never had or caused to be opened and operated in my name, any form of social media Account.
The said Facebook Account purported to be in my name is therefore FAKE and so is the said post on the Account.
I therefore entreat the general public, particularly the rank and file of our great NDC Party, to ignore the post with the contempt it deserves.
The creation of the Account and the post therein are mere attempts by our detractors to sow seeds of discontent within the hierarchy of the Party and to smear my person but they shall definitely FAIL.
I have no doubt that the truth will always prevail.
