Over 400 individuals and more than 30 local and foreign tourist groups visited the Wli Waterfalls in the Hohoe Municipality on Boxing Day.
The falls, which cascades from a height of about 80 metres is mostly visited on holidays and festive occasions.
The Waterfall was bustling with activities, when the GNA visited at 1230 hours with many tourists still trooping in.
Jelena Imwinkelried, a Swiss Volunteer in Ghana told GNA that it was her first time at the falls and she was having fun.
Mr Eyram Ashigbie, an Accra based Human Resource Practitioner said he decided to bring his family to the Waterfalls to enjoy the gift of nature.
Master Ben Torglonu, a Junior High School form three student from Likpe Bakwa said he decided to bring his younger sisters to the falls since they were doing nothing home.
A male tourist who would remain anonymous said it was his first time visiting the falls and was pleased, adding: “I only watch the waterfalls on television and it’s exciting to come and see it for the first time and I am happy.”
Mr. Emmanuel Kodzo Gblokpor, a Senior Tour Guide at the Wli Falls Office said the Office was putting in measures to make the Waterfalls attractive to tourists.
He said the Office reconstructed some roads and bridges to the falls after they were destroyed by rains and had several challenges including; the absence of a place of convenience at the Waterfalls and changing rooms for tourists who would like to swim.
The Wli falls charges adult tourists an amount of GH¢15 for Ghanaians and foreigners and GH¢8 for group of 20 people and more.
It also charges between GHC3 to GhC5 for children.
