The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Hon. George Nenyi Andah, in partnership with Innovative Microfinance has launched Small Micro Finance Loans package to support his constituents.
This, is in line with his commitment to financially support households, create partnership and equal opportunities for all in the constituency to lessen the economic hardship on the people by using the little they get to start businesses, and provide financial assistance to entrepreneurs within the constituency.
About 2,000 beneficiaries from the Constituency were recorded at the launched which was held at the Bawjiase Lorry Park on Wednesday, 24th of April 2019 in the Central Region. The applicants expressed their gratitude to their Member of Parliament for knowing their problems and coming to their aid to help elevate poverty in the area.
“We are very happy to have an MP who understands and think about the welfare of his people, he remembers the people who put him there with the little he has, not one who only think about himself and his home”, one said.
He continued, “my advice to my colleague beneficiaries is that we should not let such a person slip our hands, he thinks about his people. This is not the only thing he has done for us since he assumed office and even before he became an MP. And we also have to put the loan in good use so as we can pay for him to be able to do same for others in the constituency”.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Andah said, “I will be supporting beneficiaries with 60% of the interest, to make the package more accessible to the small business owners. This will ensure that future entrepreneurs within the constituency also have the opportunity to benefit from this loan scheme.”
“I wish each and every one of you much success in your business endeavours as you take these strides to improve your livelihoods and the economy of the constituency. I further encourage all beneficiaries to employ sound business and profit generating practices to enable you to fully service the loans within their respective timeframes”, he advised.
Present at the launch were Regional, Constituency, Polling Station Executives and Electoral Area Coordinators of the ruling New Patriotic Party, as well as representatives of local traders, transporters, farmers, fisher men and women and business leaders from the Constituency.
