Sammy Gyamfi flays NDC Leadership in Parliament; calls for change

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament has come under fire from the party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.

Sammy Gyamfi took to his Facebook timeline to express his anger about what he describes as a betrayal of the party by the party’s leadership and dozens of their MPs in Parliament.

Particularizing his anger on the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak, the side’s Chief Whip, the party’s face in communications has called on the leadership of the party to change their leaders in Parliament as they have become useless to the NDC as a political organization.

“This is the time for us to insist on the right changes in the leadership of the NDC group in Parliament or forget about them completely”, Sammy Gyamfi indicated.

He continued, “The current leadership have lost their moral authority to lead and are not fit to sit on the front bench of the NDC side of the house.”

He also took a swipe at the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, saying “More importantly, it’s about time we understood, that we don’t have any NDC Speaker of Parliament. No, we don’t!

“We have a Speaker who rode on the back of the NDC into Office to pursue his own parochial agenda and nothing more”, he added.

Sammy Gyamfi’s altercations are hinged on what he describes as a stab in the back of the party’s leadership when the MPs were expected to disqualify Hawa Koomson, Afriyie Akoto and Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah as nominees of President Akufo-Addo for the positions of Ministries of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Agriculture and Information respectively.

The three nominees were approved by Parliament on the early hours of Thursday, 4th March, 2021.
